Lappkärrsberget, or Lappis as it is known, is located in the beautiful surroundings of Norra Djurgården, in the middle of the National City Park. This is SSSB’s largest and most well-known student housing area. Several thousand students live here in their very own part of the city, a mere five-minute walk from Stockholm University. The mix of Swedish and international students and families with children creates a unique atmosphere.


The area is primarily home to traditional halls of residence – single rooms on student corridors. However there are also student apartments of varying sizes – from one to four rooms – as well as a preschool and several playgrounds.

Lappis was built between 1968 and 1970. Professorsslingan 10 was built in 2000. Professorsslingan 47-53 was built 2020.

KI Housing offers 71 furnished dorm rooms at Jägargatan 20, in central Stockholm. In this student accommodation you have your own private washbasin but you will be sharing bathroom with other tenants in the corridor. You have access to common kitchen, living room, laundry and wireless network.

At Jägargatan there are certain apartment/room numbers that must be used when registering at Skatteverket.

Our student accommodation at Jägargatan is located near the hospital Södersjukhuset, in the popular district Södermalm, in central Stockholm. Södermalm is known for its large selection of restaurants, cafés, bars and shops.

There are nice walking tracks along the water “Årstaviken”, located just around the corner.

There is a shopping mall called “Ringen Centrum” within walking distance (about 1.5 kilometers).

The tenant is responsible for keeping the room/apartment (and its furniture) clean during the whole lease and for leaving it clean for the new tenant.

Deficiencies regarding the inventory must be reported to the KI Housing office. When a student is leaving, damaged and/or missing items will be replaced and charged to the tenant.

The beds are equipped with mattress, mattress cover, quilt and pillow. Please note that you need to bring your own bed linen and towels.

Free access to wireless internet is provided by KI Housing in this area. You will receive information about it upon arrival. If you have problems with your internet access, please submit a maintenance request in the customer portal.

There is a common kitchen in all corridors. All kitchens are equipped with basic kitchen utensils.

There is a common living room in each corridor, furnished with tables and sofas, where tenants can gather for spontaneous meetings and get-togethers.

There are common shower and WC rooms in each corridor. Note that these are shared with both female and male tenants.

Anyone using our common areas is responsible for keeping them clean and leaving them in good order after use.

There is an electronic key system and all tenants at Jägargatan will receive electronic keys, called iLOQ keys.

In order to unlock the door, insert the iLOQ Key entirely into the keyway and turn the key. If the cylinder does not open, remove the key and re-insert it into the cylinder again, this time more slowly. If the movement is too fast, the cylinder is kept in locked state. Please do not excess force when inserting the key into the cylinder.

Cleaning equipment is available in all corridors (vacuum cleaner, mop and pail).

The domestic waste and other garbage disposals are located in the basement, on the KV-floor (-2). The tenants are responsible for sorting their garbage.

Glass, metal, newspapers and cardboards must be carried down to the garbage recycling room on floor KV (–2). There are two garbage rooms – one for regular domestic waste and one for the garbage that can be recycled: glass (clear glass and colored glass are to be sorted separately), metal, batteries, cardboards and newspapers.

There is a common laundry room equipped with washing machines, spin-drier and hand washing facilities in each corridor. Please read the instructions before use.

The mailboxes are located outside each corridor. You will get a key for your mailbox.

Automatic smoke detectors are installed in all corridors, rooms and apartments for your safety.

In case of fire or smoke in the room, corridor or common areas an alarm signal will sound in the whole corridor and the fire brigade will be contacted automatically.

There is a small guestroom (size 4 square meters) on floor -1 that can be booked by all KI Housing tenants at Jägargatan who are awaiting visits from relatives and friends.
